Our Little Seamstress

I have been working on quite a few tote orders lately and Madelynne likes to do what I am doing, so she wanted to sew too. I think her favorite part was digging through my pin box and finding all my "polka dot pins" which are the pins with colored tops. Here are a few pictures of her helping me sew. Check out her outfit-striped shirt, "Cinderella dress" and a pair of pajama pants. Can you tell she dresses herself?

Adventures in Napping

So, ideally you put your child down for a nap and you have a couple of hours to get some things done. Right? This past week Madelynne had other plans for nap time besides sleeping...they included putting a bead up her nose and crunching goldfish crackers into her bed. I'm still not sure where the goldfish crackers came from and why Madelynne thought her nose was the perfect place for a bead...
Madelynne has also decided she needs to wear her pajamas to take a nap, but when we put her to bed at night she gets out of bed and gets dressed. Go figure!

Good food, good friends, good times...

Once a month I get together with 6 of my good friends and we have lunch. We fondly call ourselves "The Lunch Bunch". We each take a turn hosting and whoever hosts is also in charge of the entree. Everyone else is assigned a side dish, beverage, dessert or the kid's food. We always end up with a fantastic meal! It is a great time to catch up on each others lives while enjoying good food and company. We love lunch bunch days! I would highly recommend the practice to all my friends!

It's Good to Be a Greenway

We spent Easter Weekend in Pennsylvania with Matt's family. It was a very quick trip, but we loved being able to spend Easter with family. It was the first time we had all been together in two years! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We hope you all had a great Easter too!

St. Patrick's Day

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day we had an all green dinner. Here is what was on the menu: Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Spinach Salad, Green Jello Shamrocks, Green Veggie Tray, and of course, Leprechaun Juice!

Speaking Madelynne-ese

Toddlers have the cutest way of expressing themselves and often their own language. Madelynne is quite articulate for her age, but she is also fluent in what we like to call "Madelynne-ese". Here is an introduction to the language.

Lotion=Loshe
Delicious-Good-licious
Upside down=Upsy down
Brother=Bruder
Tinkerbell=Tinkerbuns
Juice in a mermaid sippy cup=Mermaid juice
Strawberry milk=Pink milk


This picture is for Grampa Ron. Grampa Ron found this sweet, little dress while Christmas shopping with Grammie Melanie last December. As Melanie tells it she was shopping for other things and Ron kept bringing the dress to show her until she agreed they needed to buy it for Madelynne for Christmas. When Madelynne wears the dress she reminds us she is Grampa's "babycakes".

Madelynne is really excited to see her Uncle Joel at the end of the week(we all are). Joel has not seen Madelynne since right before his mission and she was only six weeks old! Madelynne has changed just a little bit in two years...

Our Little Chocolate Lover!

I thought that my love for chocolate was over the top, however Madelynne has taken the love to a whole new level. As Matt's side of the family discovered at Christmas, Madelynne is quite passionate about chocolate. Something we hear quite frequently at our house, "I NEED CHOCOLATE!". In the most desperate and pleading voice you can imagine. The following pictures are but a small sampling of Madelynne and her love for chocolate.







THE BIG DIG

Matt spent many quality hours during and after the big snowstorm digging us out of the snow. He got quite the workout. Who needs the gym when you have a snow shovel?

Big News!

This has been an exciting week for our family. Madelynne had her first haircut and we found out the gender of our baby!



Our friend, Julie, gave Madelynne her first haircut.


IT'S A BOY! BABY BOY GREENWAY IS EXPECTED TO MAKE HIS ARRIVAL ON AUGUST 5, 2008. We are so excited! Now, we have to decide on a name. Please feel free to leave your suggestions!

Blizzard 2008

This is winter in Cleveland! For all of our friends who have moved away (and I know are missing the winter weather)...these pictures are for you.

Playtime

This is Madelynne's animal parade. She loves to get her "zoo" out and line up all the animals.


Madelynne has decided this horse is not just for looking at and that she needs to ride it-on a daily basis. Thanks Jeanie, for hours of entertainment!



Madelynne is such a good little mommy. Her favorite thing is to put her babies to bed. She always turns on the night light and space heater for them. Then she tells her babies goodnight and shuts her bedroom door. When I ask her where her baby is the reply is always "Baby is sleeping."


Madelynne came out of her room the other day with her "doctor kit" and said, "Look Mommy! I'm a doctor!"

Madelynne's Big Girl Bed

Madelynne is growing up! At the beginning of the year we switched her to a "big girl bed". She looks so small! Moments like these are bittersweet-she is not a baby any more, but our precious little girl.
