More Adventures in Napping

Okay. We survived the bead up the nose, the goldfish crackers crunched in the bed, the CONSTANT changing of clothes, and even the "I need to wear my jammies at nap time". But, this tops everything else. Last Saturday in between sessions of General Conference, Madelynne was supposed to be taking a nap. Everything was quiet in her room and we assumed (can you believe it?) that Madelynne was napping. I was working on some Spring Cleaning projects and as I passed Madelynne's room I caught a HUGE whiff of Vick's Baby Rub smell. I opened her door and there she was COVERED in Vick's Baby Rub! She has had a cold and the medicine got left in the top drawer of her dresser by accident. Not only was Madelynne's face and body covered in Vick's, but her bed, the crib, the carpet, the inside of her dresser drawers and the clothes in them, and just about anything else she managed to get her little hands on. Needless to say it produced a whole new level of spring cleaning for the mommy. Apparently, Madelynne felt like I was slacking and needed a little push in the right direction. Three loads of laundry, a scrub down of the entire room and a carpet cleaning later, Madelynne was in BIG TROUBLE. She had to sit in time out for a long time. However, this all said Madelynne does manage to take naps without a hitch-sometimes. The picture below is the proof.

Adventures in Napping

So, ideally you put your child down for a nap and you have a couple of hours to get some things done. Right? This past week Madelynne had other plans for nap time besides sleeping...they included putting a bead up her nose and crunching goldfish crackers into her bed. I'm still not sure where the goldfish crackers came from and why Madelynne thought her nose was the perfect place for a bead...
Madelynne has also decided she needs to wear her pajamas to take a nap, but when we put her to bed at night she gets out of bed and gets dressed. Go figure!
