the closing of a chapter

Great is gone and with her closes a chapter of our lives. I must admit I'm not sure I am ready to close that chapter and move on, but time and life march on whether you are ready or not. Our little family of four were so blessed to have Great in our lives and my only regret is that she never got to meet Jackson in this life. We look forward to the day when we will see Great again, firm in the knowledge that families can be together forever through Heavenly Father's great plan of happiness. It is through this knowledge that we are able to move ahead.

Great's funeral was a time of celebrating who Great was and of saying good-bye to this incredible lady and her legacy.

All of Great's grandchildren and great grandchildren sang, "Families Can Be Together Forever" at the funeral. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place by the time they finished singing.


After the singing, all 22 of Great's grandchildren shared their favorite memories of Great. It was an amazing example to me of just how generous Great was with her time and love. She made everyone feel special.

The grandsons all took turns being pallbearers. Here are some of the grandsons carrying Great to her final resting place beside her husband, Roy, in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
