In Loving Memory of Gigi

Dorothy May (Kruger) Greenway, 88, passed away after a brief illness at Chapel Pointe of Carlisle Nursing and Care Center on March 29, 2010.

She was born May 19, 1921, in Carlisle to Elmer William Kruger and Mary Margaret (Weibley) Kruger. She spent her formative years in Corning and Buffalo, N.Y., and graduated in 1939 from Bennett High School in Buffalo.
Dottie was a devoted wife and mother. She was married March 7, 1942, in Buffalo to the late Hiram Nathaniel Greenway Jr., and their marriage was sealed for time and all eternity at the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah,, on Aug. 1, 1966. Nate passed away on Sept. 23, 2001, after 60 years together.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served as primary president, Relief Society president, primary music leader and primary pianist, but her favorite calling was serving the Lord Jesus Christ with her husband in the Nebraska Mission and the Washington LDS Temple in Washington, D.C., after they retired.
Many will remember spending time with Dottie playing golf, which she did until she was 83, and enjoying her friendship. She took great joy in caring for her husband, home and family.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Catherine Nitsche of East Aurora, N.Y., and Janice Marie Williams of Phelan, Calif,; four children, Brian Randolph (and his wife Kim) Greenway of Harrisburg, Donna Lynn (and the late Edison) Breckenridge of Springville, Utah,, Ronald Douglas (and his wife Melanie) Greenway of Carlisle and Melanie Robin (and her partner Dennis Church) Greenway of Bradenton, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service under the direction of Bishop Dana Kellis will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 216 Skyline Drive, Mechanicsburg. Internment will be at the family’s convenience in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
