President's Day Weekend

We were so excited to have my parents come visit us President's Day Weekend! Madelynne couldn't wait for Grammie and Grampa to come to her "nursery" (church) with her. It was fun just being together. They were able to stay through Monday and waited to leave until it was time for Madelynne to go down for her nap. She went down a little later that day because she didn't want her grandparents to leave. She saw them go out the back door and when she woke up from her nap she kept going to the back stairs saying she needed to go get her Grammie and Grampa and talk to them. Madelynne loved waking up in the morning and knowing Grammie and Grampa were there to play with her. It took a couple of days for her to remember they wouldn't be there when she woke up. She loves her grand parents!
Madelynne loves to read books! She especially loved the one on one time with Grammie and Grampa (these are Madelynne's names for her grandparents). Reading a book with Grammie right after she got up from her nap. That is why her hair looks so lovely! Who says curlers are just for your hair? Madelynne would giggle and giggle when Grammie would do this. I am sure Mom is going to be thrilled I posted this on our blog! Love you Mom!
Madelynne wanted to try out Grammie's curlers too. She would walk around so carefully, so the curlers wouldn't fall out of her hair.

The Perfect End to the Day

It is our favorite time of day. The day is winding down, Madelynne has had her tubby and smells so sweet. We all climb up on Mommy and Daddy's bed, read books and sing primary songs. It is the time of day when Madelynne likes to be snuggled. Madelynne's current favorite songs to sing at bedtime include: Itsy, Bitsy Spider, Sunbeam, Snowman, I am a Child of God, and I Love to See the Temple. These are the moments we treasure.

Dress Ups

This morning Madelynne got dressed in a red shirt, white pants and her Cinderella panties over her diaper. Keep in mind she also has on an under shirt. Thirty minutes after getting dressed she changed into a pair of jeans and added a denim skirt as well. Then she had to put on her "Cinderella dress" over everything she already had on and added her tutu not to mention the hot pink snow boots. This girl loves to play dress ups and have costume changes! While I am cooking dinner Madelynne is accessorizing. If one necklace is good ten are better.
Our little chef. She calls the apron her "bib" and the hot pad her "mitten".
Madelynne actually came to me and asked me to take her picture once she had created this masterpiece of a costume.
After getting all ready for church on Sunday Madelynne wanted to complete her outfit by adding her ladybug Halloween costume. There were many tears when she found out she couldn't go to church wearing the ladybug.

Valentine's Day 2008

On Valentine's Day it was my turn to host Lunch Bunch. Here are a couple of pictures of the table and the place settings. Silly me, I forgot to take a group picture. Pregnancy makes me so forgetful!

Madelynne was so excited to find her Valentine gift on her plate at dinner. She got the movie Aristocats and watched it with the babysitter while Mommy and Daddy went to Wicked.
Matt surprised me and for Christmas he gave me tickets to see Wicked! And being the cute romantic that he is he got the tickets for Valentine's Day night. We enjoyed a nice family dinner at home courtesy of Outback Takeout and then we actually got a babysitter for Madelynne (the first time EVER) and had a real date! The music was incredible, the sets and special effects were amazing and I came away wanting to be on Broadway. OK, well not really, but the show does have a way of casting it's spell on you. I loved being out with my sweetheart and sharing such a fun night with him.

Bring on the Snow!

This was Madelynne's first time playing out in the snow and she LOVED every minute of it. She cried when she had to come in the house. She definitely got that from her daddy!

The snow lovers of the family have to stick together.

Madelynne loved picking up handfuls of snow and throwing at her daddy. She has spunk that one!

We caught the blogging fever!

Well, it took awhile, but we finally came down with it. That is right, we caught the blogging fever and have joined our fellow bloggers with a blog of our own. Here is the life and times of the Matt Greenway Family.
