Thanksgiving 2009

The table.

The centerpiece.

The turkey.

The food.

Grammie and Grampa came to spend Thanksgiving with us. There is nothing like spending time with family to make a holiday complete.

Madelynne with her mouth full of Thanksgiving dinner goodness.

Mommy and Daddy.

Jackson learned a new word on Thanksgiving. Pie. Now to his "Num a num a num" (aka yummy)it ends with pie. This little boy loves pumpkin pie just like his daddy.
Madelynne and her preschool class learned all about the pilgrims and the Indians and the first Thanksgiving. They especially liked playing in this tepee.

Blessing #10

Drive thru banking. Love it! It is so much easier to make a "quick" deposit at the bank, if you have the children with you, when you never have to get out of the car! Enough said.

Blessing #9

My sisters. I have five sisters who are all so amazing and talented. They are all incredible examples to me. I am lucky to not only call them my sisters, but also my dearest friends. It's good to be a "Borgersen Girl". Love and miss you all!

Blessing #8

Great. That is what we call Matt's grandma. There isn't a word that could better describe her. She is the kind of grandma everybody wants. She always remembers your birthday, is genuinely interested in your life and your family's as well. She also knows all of her almost 50 (she knows the exact number) great grand children's names and birthdays. Did I mention she is 91? She is a riot to talk to and is incredibly generous with her time, love, and resources. We are blessed to have Great in our lives and to be a part of her legacy.

We love you Great!

Madelynne's First Field Trip

Yesterday, Madelynne, went on her first field trip to the Indian Museum. She was a little confused as to what a field trip actually entails. She asked, "Do I get to go on an airplane to my field trip?" No. "A helicopter?" No. "Then what am I going on my field trip?" You see up until this point in her life the only trips she has gone on have involved driving (for a long time) or flying on a plane to go somewhere. She was a little disappointed her field "trip" was only fifteen minutes away. But, she wasn't nearly as disappointed as her friend, Madelynn, who thought they were going to Myrtle Beach (her family vacations there every year). When her family pulled up to the museum and got out of the car she turned to her mom and said, "It's not warm here!" Yes, it wasn't warm because they never left Ohio! I love the way children think.

Despite the confusion we still had a really great time.

This is one of the first things you see when you walk into the museum. Wouldn't want to run into this in the middle of the night!

Jackson viewed the museum from his stroller. He was most interested in the things Indians eat. Big surprise.

Learning how to grind corn just like the Indians.

Listening to the museum volunteer talk about Indian life: what they ate, what kind of houses they lived in, and what kind of work they did.

Madelynne, and her friend, Madelynn, and their new friend, Bruno.

Of course, one of Mommy's favorite parts of the museum was the shoes. Look at the intricate bead work on these beauties!

This totum pole looked like a good case for an orthodontist to me!

Madelynne was practically kissing the glass on some of the displays.

More beautiful intricate bead work on these pants.

No field trip is complete without a good snack!
